Dorama tip: Mary stayed out all night

Jumi has another favorite new korean dorama: Mary stayed out all night.

The story: 
Mae Ri is a daughter of a failed businessman (who has a lot of debts). One day Mae Ri's, meets a guy by 'accident', Kang Moo Kyul (an indie singer,  loved by a lot of female fans), but she doesn't know him. They started to become friends, because they can get along from the moment they met.
Meanwhile, Mae Ri's dad, who has a lot of debts, meets his old friend by coincidence. This friend is, in contrast with dad, a rich successful businessman. The friend sets up a deal with dad, and he is paying off his debts. Now dad only has to arrange a situation to let his daughter get into a marriage with the son of his old friend. Mae Ri doesn't want to marry anyone, but dad doesn't leave her any choice. Mae Ri comes up with a plan, and she's faking the situation that Kang Moo Kyul, the indie singer friend, is the 'love of her life', so she cannot marry the son of the rich friend of dad. But still, dad makes the situation difficult, because he made an agreement with his rich friend. Then dad comes up with a new plan: Within 100 days she has to decide which one she really wants to marry, the indie singer or the wealthy son, by spending equally time with both of them....

I really love the characters in this dorama. Kim Jae Wook, also known from Coffee Prince, plays the role of rich son Byun Jung In :) You can watch Mae Ri stayed out all night at dramacrazy.net

Freeze! This is the Chihuahua police!

Since last Friday, the Japanese police has a new member of the policecorpse: the 7 year old Momo. No, it's not a child, but a Chihuahua. Momo succeeded his exam last week: he had to pick up the smell of a survivor during a calamity exercise, and he did within five minutes. Because of its tiny size, chihuahuas might be more helpful during some rescue operations (for example during an earthquake), instead of the standard 'police-dogs' such as the German shepherd. Well, it sure is a better and nicer job than being someones accesory...

The Tired City

Just saw this animated short, it's so sad! But I like the drawings and music.

The story happens to the busy her, and her story can also be your story. She is a character from a fairy tale: sweet, dedicated and rather naive. Facing the owner of Tired Out Incorporation, Bossie, and to earn her living, she pours herself into her work everyday, proficient, no complaints and never says no. The flower in the office is her only joy. But she has no time for it, or her friends or family... then the flower wilts and she comes to realize the true meaning of living...

Animefavorite: Kuragehime

Jumi has a new animefav: Kuragehime (=Jellyfish Princess)! Kuragehime is a cute girlie funny manga series of Akiko Higashimura, and on October 15th, the story has been adapted into an 11 episode anime tv-series. I just finished the 4th episode and each time I love this anime more and more. You can watch the series at watchanimeon.com

The story:
It's about five otaku-girls who live in the same house. They all have one thing in common: they freeze when they see a 'bright' or a fashionable beauty. One of the girls, Tsukimi, is a Jellyfishlover. One day, she meets a fashionable beautiful 'girl' who saves a jellyfish from death. In reality this 'girl' is a 'boy' who loves wearing girlclothes and whigs. This meeting changes their lives...

I just want to be perfect

I came across this dark website: IJustWantToBePerfect.com with some kind of countdown. The images and music are so creepy and beautiful. I loved it!!

It seems to be the viral site for the upcoming movie "Black Swan" with Nathalie Portman.
The movie is a psychological thriller and has an interesting storyline about a ballet dancer who drowns into her own dark side. Swan Lake at its best :D Can't wait to see it! Check out the trailer and be sure not to miss the last seconds of it!!! *teehee*

Hatsune Miku live in concert

Woahh!!! I have never seen this before! This is amazing!
Hatsune Miku isn't a real person, it's a vocaloid. Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application software that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and melody. (YES I copypasted this from wikipedia!! ;D)
Now she had her own concert! :D Please watch the vid above!

Review: Darwin Deez @ Paradiso Amsterdam

Last wednesday, JUMI went to check out New York's indie musicartist Darwin Deez at Paradiso in Amsterdam. He played with his band in the small hall of Paradiso. Wow, the place was PACKED! All kinds of people gathered to enjoy the happy & quirky tunes of Darwin Deez live such as Radar Detector.

The setlist was one hour, and time went by so fast, also because the gig was so much fun! Loved it when the crowd was singing along the funny lyrics of Bad Day. Between every song, the band showed us some special dancemoves and surprising shows for the audience. The band doesn't care at all how silly it looks, they do the creative stuff with all confidence and guts. Props to them! The crazy & funky silliness made a smile upon our faces.

If you go to Darwin Deez, go with no expectations and just enjoy! :)

Is Morgan Freeman turning into colonel Shikishima (from Akira)?

Maybe you've already heard it, but the anime Akira (1988), will be adapted into a liveaction movie! And Morgan Freeman is on the run for the role of colonel Shikishima.
(Do you see any resemblances?)

Allen and Albert Hughes (Menace II Society, from Hell) will be directing the movie. In 2011 they'll start filming in the US.

The story
It's about a boy named Kaneda, who is the leader of a motorgang. Tetsuo is one of the gangmembers, who got arrested one day. Now he is being used for a military experiment, that gives him incredible powers. But he can't control his powers! Now Kaneda is trying to help him control it.

If you like Reeboks' Kitty shoes, check out this special edition of Adidas, created by Jeremy Scott! Don't be afraid to be seen as animal abuser, when wearing it. Because by the look of it, these bears actually enjoy walking with you, waving their hands, smiling...except when it's raining or snowing. 

In the past Jeremy Scott already designed sneakers for Adidas, for example the Mickey Mouse sneakers. But this teddysneaker is much more super ultracute.

I'm not sure if I would wear it outside, because the whole shoe is fluffy.

The Jeremy Scott adidas Teddy Bears are set to release Spring 2011 and will be available in pink and brown. I don't know how much these teddies will cost. Mickey Mouse Adidas costed approx. 180 euro, so Teddy probably will be available for the same price.

Eat Hello Kitty, surrounded by Hello Kitty

Well it looks like Taiwan loves Hello Kitty! If you're a HK-fan you should really travel to Taiwan. Why? Imagine arriving at Tao Yuan International airport in Taiwan, tired of the flight you're searching for an area where you can rest, and yes..there you have it, at the airport: A Hello Kitty lounge! The taxi arrives and brings you to the Grand Hi lai hotel. You unlock the door to your room, and yes...there you have it: A Hello Kitty suite!

Ofcourse you need to eat, and ofcourse in Taiwan, yes...there you have it: A Hello Kitty Sweets restaurant/sweetsshop!
The interior is in pinkish Hello Kitty style, and besides sweet dishes such as pies and cakes, they also serve savory snacks and dishes, for example: pasta, burgers, meat and this nicelooking dish: decapitated kitty, where they only serve kitty's head filled with veggies, meat and sauce....mmm Kittyhead...

Reebok in Hello Kitty mood

If you're a Hello Kitty fan, you've probably seen (or have,...lucky you) these nice special HK edition sneakers of Nike or Ubiq. Now it's Reeboks turn! Reebok came up with the PT-20 INT PLUSH KITTY. This one has a cute red HK bow on the side and if you turn it upside down, you can see HK's face. These sneakers are really soft plushy on the outside. So don't wear them when it's raining outside.  These sneakers are so cute! It's available in three different colors: White, black and pink and you can buy them at Atmos Tokyo (I don't know if they also ship to Europe). They cost approx. 112 euro.
