Yoskay Yamamoto gives facelift to cartooncelebrities

A cartooncharacter automatically looks cuter when it has round (big) eyes and a little nose. What if you make tiny little adjustments to the face, will it stop being cute?

Well, Yoskay Yamamoto has been really busy with changing some famous cartoonfaces. Round eyes are replaced with almond shaped ones. And some of them have real shaped lips and a protruding nose. Now a couple of animal cartooncharacters look more human or uhm alien-ish. Hmmm, now they look less cute to me...rather scary. Wonder how a human-alien Hello Kitty look like, or Pooh-bear? Check out these pictures.

Cute but sad MV Small Hands - Keaton Henson

OK, this time not a post about k-pop, but about an interesting artistic mv "Small Hands" of singer Keaton Henson. The first few seconds I thought 'ohhhhh how cute'. Well, it starts cute, with cuddly owls, cute frogs, sweet mice and other animals, living peacefully in the wood. Until you face reality. Not all animals are cute and are living together as if it's Disneyland. Animals need food too, and of course a lot of them are not vegetarian, so they have no choice than eating other animals. And, yup, there are other creatures too who kill animals, to eat or for some other reasons: humans. And that's life!

Anyway, the animal puppets look awesome! Watch the video, here at JUMI!

Buy shoes and get a free man

Buy shoes and get a free man? What the.... Yup, it's just the slogan of a new marketing campaign of a women shoesretailer Shoes, shoes, shoes and matchmaking company Lunch Actually in Malaysia.

Visit the store and choose between shoes from a special labeled selection "date included". And here comes the free men part. All of the shoes are all linked to men from Lunch Actually. So these men also have chosen their favorite shoe beforehand (ahum..choosing your favorite womenshoe as a guy for a matchmaking thing, hmm sounds gay). But this will be the first match: having the same taste in shoes. And women who choose to go on a date (you can also buy the shoe without the matchmaking crap), will also get something extra: the man will carry a discount cash voucher that he paid for himself, which women can use when buying a shoe. This could be anywhere between 10% to 100% of the total price. Cheap shoes, man included!

Hm, I must agree it's a funny concept, but do you think this could really become a successful campaign? I don't think so. Would you go out on a date with a guy who's interested or really likes to look at women shoes or can actually choose which one looks better, the pink high heel or the glittery one....

JUMI's entry BIGBANG cover contest012

'Korean band BIGBANG launches a worldwide cover contest for Fantastic Baby!' Coooooooolllll ...that was what we thought, a few days ago...until we saw the closing day for submitting the video was....a few days later.."OMG! We can't make it!!" But the grand prize is a trip to Korea. Wow, fantastic baby! We should at least give it a try, right?

And this is how our little project started: enter the competition with JUMI's version of BIGBANG's Fantastic Baby. We didn't have so much time for writing English lyrics, filming, editing and coloring our hair. So we had days with only 2 hours of sleep to make it before the deadline. Even the tattoo-artist had to work overtime. BUT it's WORTH it! We had so much fun, hope you like it too!

Supermodel ants

Some people really love ants. Sometimes ants are really hired to become supermodels. Hm, I just think ants are annoying. But a Russian photographer Andrey Pavlov doesn't think that way. Yup, he's the one who uses ants for his photographs. Half of the ants on the photos are real and of course he did some photoshopping. Yet the results are nice to see. I've selected a few of his photographs. Click here if you want to see more.

Hell yeah, I'm the strongest!

Good teamwork guys, just turn the button more to the left

Finally, it's just you and me

2NE1 sings Like a Virgin

A few weeks ago I couldn't wait to hear 2NE1's full version of one of Madonna's old school hits Like A Virgin. And finally, finally, today was the day that I could hear it. I thought they would sing pieces in Japanese (because the song is a bonus track on their Japanese album 'Collection'), but no, it's completely in English. It took me a few seconds to get used to the sound, because I still have the original version in my mind. But I like it, the new school version of Like a Virgin! So, do you like it too?

OMG Glow in the dark sushi??!

Do you remember the movie Flubber, the flubberish green thing (with Robin Williams)? Back then a famous ketchup brand came up with GREEN ketchup, because of the release of the movie. I love ketchup. So I bought the green ketchup, because, well, even though it's green, it still tastes like ketchup. Jummyornot? Uhhh, well, my french fries didn't look really jummy when I put the green ketchup on it. Hm. Anyway, enough about the green ketchup.

There is something else I really really love to eat: SUSHI! And now a company came up with something, which allows you to see and eat sushi anytime, even when it's dark.....glow in the dark sushi.

A special kind of fish must be used to have this effect. Yup, these fish are genetically modified, designed to glow. Originally it's invented to determine whether a river is contaminated, so these fish function as indicators for polluted water. Now you can eat this fish. Hm. I love sushi, I think of sushi, I drool over sushi, I dream of sushi...but when I see a glow in the dark sushi in real life, I think I'll skip eating it. It looks so unhealthy, chemical. Ulggg, I already have a flubber-ketchup-trauma....
Would you eat glow in the dark sushi?

Men Baka Ichidai's noodles burn like fire

I love Ramen/Ramyun/Noodles, especially when it's spicy hot. Well, I found something interesting, served by a restaurant in Kyoto: Burning hot ramen (or noodles)...

It's not hot because of the spices, but this one is really really burning hot. Literally hot burned! Yup, the chef prepares the ramen by using fire IN the pot. Hmmm, I wonder how burned ramen would taste. Definitely a must-eat when JUMI goes to Kyoto.

If you've already visited the restaurant Men Baka Ichidai, please let us know, if the burned ramen is JummyOrNot.

Intel Ultrabook presents dancing tiger

The more annoying a melody in a commercial sounds, the more difficult it is get it out of your head. Just like the melody of Intel's commercial with the new Ultrabook. Hm. After hearing it once, the super annoying uuluu uuluu uuluu-sound is now stuck forever in my brain! Nooooo!
I like the dancing tiger though. But the uuluu melody, OMG....Watch the commercial, here at JUMI.

Hot ramen noodles through USB?

My heater is way up nowadays because of the cold weather and my whole face starts to dry awfully... So I am thinking to buy a humidifier. While browsing for a humidifier, I came upon this cool looking one!

Cup Shitsuki USB humidifier!

It looks like a freshly made Cup Ramen Noodle. But in real it's a humidifier that can be connected to your PC. So handy! Check out the video below to see it in action. I really want this one, what do you think? Even the name makes me wanting it. ;D

See this site for more info. The price is around 75$ ouch..

Unfortunately it's hard to get, plus if I would ship it to Holland it will be an extra expensive gift for myself. I am sad! I just have to look further for a simple one. :(

the Guardian newspaper: 3 little pigs arrested

It seemed like a fairytale. A happy end for the third pig, who built a brick house and survived the attack by the big bad wolf. Now English newspaper the Guardian came up with news that caused controversy. Piggy's two other brothers are not dead. No, they live together. And here comes the shocking news: recently the three little pigs were arrested for boiling up the big bad wolf! Say what?! Yup, they were arrested...

Hehe, well actually it's the Guardian's new 2012 advertisement. Love it. Watch the video, here at JUMI!

2NE1 covers Madonna song

Maybe you've already heard the news: Korean girlband 2NE1 will cover an oldscool song of my very first girl-idol: Madonna! Guess which song...

Yup, the song with the lion in the MV: Like a Virgin (ohh nooo, now the silly song of Weird Al Yankovic pops up in my head). 2NE1's Like a Virgin will be a bonustrack on their new Japanese album "Collection", which will be released on March 28th.

A Japanese beverage company Kirin, already used the song for their new Namacya commercial.

I'm not a very huge fan of covers. But when I heard a little piece of 2NE1's version in the commercial, I'm definitely not dissappointed by this cover. Now I can't wait to hear their full Like a Virgin version. Anyway, check out the commercial, here at JUMI!

No money, but cupcakes in ATM's

Even though it's normal in countries to have vending machines offering hot drinks, crabs, bananas and even shoes, JUMI only has the 'luck' that our petite country has vending machines offering boring snacks and drinks (chocolate and a coke). So I end up drooling at home, thinking back about my journey in Japan, where I fully enjoyed the sight of various vending machines and felt I won the jackpot, while a hot can of coffee came out of the machine.

Now something else caught my eye....ATM's...
Nope, not with money in it (that wouldn't be useful to me haha), but something else that makes me happy....CUPCAKES!

Recently Sprinkles Cupcakes in Beverly Hills, California, installed their first cupcake ATM. Of course, like normal ATM's, this is also a 24-hours machine. The cupcakes are freshly baked, or well, freshly, probably a few hours old or a day. I assume bakers won't work there for 24 hours. But it really looks more jummy than the cupcakes in the supermarket. The cupcake company will also put Cupcake ATM's in New York, Chicago and Washington DC. Mmmmmm cupcakes....

Cute cupcake proposal

Awww... this video makes you go awwww in an instant. It's a cute video about how a guy proposes his cupcake-lover girlfriend in a cupcake cafe. But it's so cutely made and with all the help of his and her friends it was such a creative project! Curious about what she said? Go watch:

Jummy cookingchannel: Cooking with dog

There is a channel that makes JUMI drool instantly, when watching the videos: Cooking with Dog. This is a program hosted by Francis, the ultracute sweet dog and the chef. The program focuses on jummy Japanese food. The good thing about Cooking with Dog is that it's spoken in English. So now, everyone can learn how to cook a Japanese dish, without buying expensive cookbooks or joining expensive cooking courses. What I also like is, that the host sometimes explains why you should do this or that, instead of telling the viewer just plainly and boring the cookingsteps.

To be honest, I don't watch Cooking with Dog when I'm very very hungry, because it makes me even drool more. Everything the chef cooks looks sooooo jummy, even the simplest dishes, like a simple donut looks so tasteful.

Unfortunately, last January the chef got into a bicycle-accident. Hopefully she's fully recovered now.

Click here to go to the Cooking with Dog-channel. And here is one of my favorite jummy videos, custard pudding, mmmmmmm.

eAeon - Bulletproof

OK, this song really got stuck in my head for a couple of days. It's the Korean song Bulletproof from eAeon. Bulletproof is a slow, dreamy, dark experimental song that drags you into a 4:11 minute emotional rollercoaster. And the MV gives you just another boost, while you're sitting in the emotional rollercoaster. It's like you can almost feel the sadness, by listening and watching.

The video consists of small static motion blocks, which gives the song an extra darky feeling.  I don't know the true meaning of the video, but here's my interpretation:

It's about a hidden/unspoken sadness in a relationship that became too routine. She knows her unspoken sadness will grow, by staying with him. Yet she thinks she needs him or she doesn't want to face reality. Eventually both got trapped in the cage of unspoken sadness of their routineous relationship, or well, she drags him into it, knowing that it won't make him happier, but more and more....sad. Anyway, sadness grows as the distance between them grows. At the end, he leaves and she's the only one left in the room, realizing that she's trapped in her own sadness, all alone, by herself.

Pretty sad huh, it's really something else then the happy Hella Kitty Swag song. Here's the musicvideo!

Usagi Drop live action

I've seen the movie at a festival, and I couldn't wait to watch it again. And finally, finally I can watch it again, online with English subs! I'm talking about the live action drama Usagi Drop, hooray! Hello Kitty bling bling glasses

I've never understood the striped sunglasses 'trend' a few years ago. And these uglies came in different bright colors that it even hurt my eyes more, when I saw them in stores. Why would people wear those sunglasses? Because the sun is blocking their view? Well, it's blocking their view even more, because everybody turns into a zebra (hehe, I saw Zebraman yesterday, so I'm still in the zebramood).
Anyway, enough about zebra sunglasses. I think it becomes much more 'normal' to wear (sun-)glasses, not for its actual purpose, but because it's a trend, looks artistic or cool.

OK, JUMI loves Hello Kitty, but not if she's blocking the view! Check out these bling bling Hello Kitty glasses. Right...I guess you can't wear these bling blings when the sun is shining, or else your eyes will hurt even more, because the sunlight will reflect on the diamonds. Hmmm, I guess you can't see anything, except Hello Kitty's contour through your right eye and some little balls on the left. I wonder who would really wear or want these Kitty bling blings. Hm, maybe, the Hello Kitty show-off diva's?

Secret Garden parody by Big Bang

If you loved the Korean drama Secret Garden, you definitely should check out this parody, played by the members of Big Bang. This is soooo hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing! T.O.P. plays Hyun Bin's role funny good. He's even wearing that ugly track top hahaha. And Daesung has two roles. Omg, his second role in part 2....

The guys also made a parody of Coffee Prince and some other dramas, but this one is the best. Watch Big Bang's Secret Garden here at JUMI!
