Johnnie Walker Blue Label hires Bruce Lee for commercial

As you can see it really is Bruce Lee! A recent image. Nope, it's not Bruce for real of course. No, no, this Bruce Lee is completely in CGI (computer generated imagery). Whahhw....

Yup, that's what I thought after watching this ad of Johnnie Walker Blue Label in China. The beautiful ad has been directed by Joseph Kahn. Together with company The Mill they've created CGI Bruce Lee. It took them over nine months. Whahhhw. Of course they've contacted Bruce Lee's daughter, Shannon Lee, to 'make sure that everything was accurate from look to soul'.

But what the.... Bruce Lee and whiskey?
According to the director 'this spot isn't about drinking, nor does Bruce Lee ever pitch, hold, talk about it. It's a short inspirational film sponsored by Johnnie Walker. Those making comparisons of "water" to "alcohol" are literalists & wrong. Last thing alcohol wants to be is water. It's a metaphor for life. It's his metaphor in his actual words. I spent a year living and breathing this man, thinking about him every day. For me, it's not an ad. It's an exploration & celebration of him. This is a sculpture in a different medium, paid for by a different church. I stand behind it.'

Enough talking, watch the beautiful ad, here at JUMI!
