3D this, 3D that, 3D-photo's, 3D-doramas, 3D-bodyscans, and after the introduction of last years Avatar, we're overwhelmed with 3D-movies nowadays. Now they even create remakes of old movies into a 3D-version. Last november the classic movie Battle Royale 3D was released into cinemas in Japan.
The story
It's about a class (with a lot of disobedient students) who are having a school trip, but this isn't an ordinary school trip. The students are dumped into an island where they have to kill each other, until there's only one student left. Stars as Takeshi Kitano (Dolls, Zatoichi, Outrage) and Tatsuya Fujiwara (Death Note, Parade) played their roles very well.
If you've seen this movie, can you imagine how some things in the scenes will be much more emphasized? The blood splattered all over the screen, gunfires and so on. "The downside is that since it was not made with 3D technology in mind, only certain actions or objects were suitable for conversion. So do not expect the non-stop and super-realist effects you see in Avatar." (Reuters).
I really hope this movie will also be released in cinemas in my country. Hopefully we can also enjoy a remake of Ringu (The Ring) soon :)
