I really had high expectations of the Korean doramamovie Come Rain Come Shine, starring Hyun Bin (Secret Garden and Late autumn), directed by Lee Yoon-ki. The movie was also selected in the main competition for the Berlin International Film Festival. But after seeing the movie, it gave me 'a so-so' feeling. The story is about a couple who are married for five years. Like many other couples, they also get into a relational routinecrisis. They don't have much to say to each other anymore. Hyun Bin plays a very considerate quite man, who seems to agree with everything. Im Soo Yung plays the role of a woman who decides to leave him for another man. She packs her bags to leave, but 'unfortunately' the weather isn't cooperative. It's raining too much that she can't leave.
The camera follows the couple and shows the emotions of the characters very beautifully, quiet, subtle and real, without any exaggeration (like typical Hollywood movies). There were moments that I had to blink away a tear. Hyun Bin and Im Soo-yeong played the role very realistic, very well!
Because it's not a typical dorama/romantic movie, it can be quiet hard to finish the movie. I wouldn't recommend you to see Come Rain Come Shine, when you're already tired or when you have expectations to see a lot of action, screaming and other Hollywoodstuff, because you'll definitely get bored soon or just fall asleep. To be honest, I watched the movie in parts (two days). If you're used to arthouse-ish movies, then you should watch it here, at Dramacrazy.net
