Review G.I. Joe Retaliation

OK, if you were looking for a review about the movie G.I. Joe Retaliation, then go to another website. Or no, we can review this movie in one word: disastrous!

Hmm, and now we have to explain why. First of all, it was a typical action-don't-think-too-much-American-movie. It had a lot of useless parts, which didn't add anything to the story. Parts that were supposed to be funny were meaningless to me. Also I got irritated by the background music. Some dramatic 'sad' moments were emphasized with annoying sad music. Or when the Joe's are ready to fight, you'll hear also a typical 'I'm tha man' background music. There's totally NO need for that to emphasize these moments. I had a lot of sleepy moments. The first half hour.... just go to sleep, because you won't miss anything.

Anyway, enough about the movie. Now we'll focus on the important part of the movie: Lee Byung Hun aka Storm Shadow! Oeeh yeah! I had high expectations, not of the movie, but to see LBH much more on the big screen. Hmpff.... he wasn't alot on screen. But when he was on... OMG. Goood, nice. Unfortunately he didn't say much. He really worked out for this movie (loooots of oil and/or water on his body focused our eyes to forget the rest of the screen). And I guess he spent a lot of time at tanning salons (or he just used spray-tan or whatever).

One of my favorite parts was the battle between Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. That small part where they didn't use annoying background music. Or well, this was my only favorite part.

Is it worth it to see this movie, just because of LBH? No. You'll only drool one quarter of your empty bucket of popcorn. Because there's a big possibilty that most of the time, you'll get irritated by a lot of parts of the movie. If you want to see some good action with LBH, I recommend you to watch Korean action-dorama IRIS.
