Jummyornot: Champagneballs

Hm. I should have made a photo of the balls displayed in a luxurious crystal bowl.
In Holland we have some traditional snacks, like for example the kroket and frikandel. These two are actually a tradition for every day. At lunch or dinner, at home or out, anywhere will do. Make sure they are Dutch, those are the best. I love these two and I believe in these kind of traditions strongly... hehe.
But we also have some Dutch snacks especially for the holidays.

For New Years Eve it's oliebollen. Oliebollen are like fried doughballs. You can compare them with donuts without an hole (uuhh.. this sounds gross or is it just me?). You can get them with or without raisins. Add some powdered sugar on top of it and you are done! PS. If you bake them yourselves with a little bit of beer added to the dough, they are baked excellent. Very soft and tasty.

Now there is something new! Oliebollen made with champagne.
I got this from the local bakery. They are a bit smaller and very soft. They have no raisins.
Well, this is maybe something especially for the ladies! These "champagnebollen" or champagneballs, whatever you want to name them, are tasting very sophisticated. Almost like you're lunching together with Carrie and Samantha somewhere in a new fancy cafe in Manhattan!
The balls are sugared, but not too much! Very thoughtful of the bakery for the dieting girls between us!
You can taste the champagne very lightly, I like these very much.

Yes! This shot is doing them more justice! :)

Well, just a few hours to go and we finally get to countdown for 2014!!
