Review: The Thieves

 

Got another movie tip for our readers: The Thieves (도둑들). Just watched it and WOW what an awesome rollercoaster ride! I got so much energy of watching this that I hadddd to review it.

So after Confession of Murder I got the chance to watch another great Korean movie this week. The movie is about a group of thieves, excellent acted by the cast, who are going to rob a casino. Hmm... I see you thinking, but no it's not a typical Oceans Eleven story. 'The Thieves' got swag. Nuff said, I'm done here. Hehehe

The big job is about robbing a $20 million diamond at a casino in Macau. Therefor the Korean thieves are teaming up with thieves from Hong Kong to be the dream team who takes that diamond! What follows is a nice and fast mixture of Korean and Chinese conversation and foul play.... ;)

I am not telling if the robbery went good or not, but expect a whole lot of original action. Especially the action scenes deserve a special note. It's a 2,5 hours ride but it's full of energy with a nice touch of humor! You get to know each character well enough. And you have to pay close attention because every second something is happening. That's what so good about this smart movie; the style, good cast and the overall flow.
