Dude plays Super Mario World with flute?

You might have seen many videos of people playing a tune of a videogame with an instrument. Cool. That is what I thought when I saw the video of Wakou playing the tune of Super Mario World with a flute. A simple easy to play game with a simple easy to play tune. But wait... this one is different.

Is he blowing into the flute with his nose? Yup, you've seen that right. Ok... but wait.... and listen. After finishing the short tune, he is actually playing the video game, I mean gaming! Serious! He has programmed the game with a recorder in a way that he can play it by controlling the sound. So the notes he blows are actually 'the buttons on the controller'. For example, if he wants Mario to go up, he blows the note Do. Re for 'left', Mi for 'down', Fa for 'right', So for 'B', La for 'B-right', Ti for 'Y-Right' etc. Hmmm, this makes it a bit more different to play Super Mario World.

Check out the video of Wakou playing Super Mario World by blowing into his flute with his nose.

Save the undies with racing game

Ladies, if you're having your naggy period but didn't like the idea to throw your tampons to everyone you hate? Why not start racing to lose your nagging feelings. No, no, you don't have to sit on a tampon or whatever. But on a pad!

Kotex came up with the Save the Undies campaign introducing two 8-bit video games.
In Racing game Pad Racer you have to race sitting in a pad, while capturing drops and avoiding cramps. Eventually you have to rescue the underwear from being soiled by "The Period Squad.' If you don't like driving in a pad, maybe you'll like flying. Flying in Pad Flyer. It's pretty much the same as Pad Racer.

Hopefully these video games with make your naggy period less naggy. Click here to play the video games

Shoot your enemies with tampons

Some still find it a bit strange to talk about it. Our bloody period of the month. Yet it's just a normal physical thing. Now creators Andrea Gonzales and Sophie Houser came up with an idea to make the taboo topic more accessible to talk about. It's the Tampon Run!

This is a 8-bit video game where you can shoot enemies with... no of course not with bullets but with tampons! Shoot all the enemies with tampons you've collected without running out before the moon cycle comes to an end. A simple game, but hopefully we will all talk more easily about our annoying bloody periods. Click here to play Tampon Run.

Pop Cult: a girlie game merch store in Amsterdam

We went to Amsterdam for a shoppingday! Or well, Forever 21 day! Soo excited, but ended up dissappointed. The collection was hmpff, not our cup of tea. Flowers here and there. And crop tops that are sooo in, but soooo tiny that I have to wear an xxxxxxl to fit in these tops..... But we didn't leave Amsterdam disappointed because we've discovered a new cool store: Pop Cult.

Yup, this is the store for gamer girlies and Domo-kun lovers! Tired of seeing cool shirts of Yoshi, Domo or Star Trek... but for boys? Don't be tired anymore, because we've seen many (long) tanktops and shirts (no miniature crop tops) for girls here. Shirts of Domo, Super Mario characters, Star Trek, pyjamas and merch for your phone. OK, of course they have stuff for boys too, shirts, caps. So a good excuse to drag your boyfriend to Amsterdam for a shoppingday.

So after the dissappointed pain we've had because of Forever 21, we eventually ended up with a smile leaving our shoppingday in Amsterdam.

Pop Cult address:
Kalverstraat 9 (next to Forever 21)

Videogame live action series coming soon: Street Figher Assasin's Fist

I'm not a very big fan when it comes to live action videogame adaptation movies. Remember Street Fighter with our blonde hunk *ahum* Jean Claude van Damme as Guile. I've seen it once and never again. Now there's a new Street Fighter coming soon: Street Figher Assasin's Fist.

This is a creation of Joey Ansah and Christian Howard. Street Figher Assasin's Fist is a series of 12 webisodes. And it will be released on May 23th! Check it out on the Machinima YouTube channel.

I don't know how it will be. But I've seen the trailer and it looks ok. Well, it definitely looks better than Street Fighter the Movie.

Check out some more trailers here.

Dress yourself up into Tetris

If you're a gamer-diva and maybe didn't like the controller leggings, you might like this: the Tetris dress!

Yup, urbanog offers girlie clothing for gamers. So I found this black Tetris dress filled with tiles. If Tetris isn't really your game, then there's also a Pacman dress.

Hmm, too bad that this dress says 'GAME OVER' with a huuuge font size. Hm. Anyway these dresses are made of 95% polyester and 5% spandex. They cost $29,60 (€21,76). Click here for more info.

Wash yourself with a SNES Cartridge

If you want to let your friend totally get nuts (someone who has a Super Nintendo), then maybe this is an idea. Shower or wash yourself with one of the game Cartridges! Say what? Yes, you will become clean using these cartridges...

Hmmm, at first your friend might totally freak out. Because he/she will think you've used one if his/her games. OK, before you'll get a *peep-*slap, just say that this cartridge is just soap!

Yup, these are citrus scented soaps shaped like SNES cartridges. The following games are available Donkey Kong Country; Street Fighter II Turbo; Super Mario Kart; and The Legend of Zelda. Pretty cool huh. Anyway, one cartridge is €15,98. So, are you ready to wash yourself with a game?

Wedding cake for gamers?

OK, before I get questions about this subject: No, I'm not getting married. But again, I saw something funny. It might be interesting for gamer divas....

If you're looking for some ideas for a non-boring-white-weddingcake (and you didn't like the 'till death do us part wedding cake), maybe you'll like this one: a gamer wedding cake!

Yup, this one is special. See Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Sonic and more game characters running on your cake. This is a wedding cake baked by Meals For Reals and animated by DJ and lighting company Posh Entertainment. The characters are moving by using a 3-D mapped projector. Pretty cool huh. Hm, but I wonder how this wedding cake looks like when the lights are on. Is it still a pretty cool wedding cake?

Street uh... Cat Fighter

Ladies, don't we love cute versions of Capcom's game Street Fighter? We've seen the Sanrio crew becoming real streetfighers, with Hello Chun-Kitty and Badtz Ryu. Now there's a real cat version of Street Fighter: Cat Fighter!

Yup, The Pet Collective introduced these little guys. Besides the cat fighters, they have many versions of videoclips and movietrailers too. For example the Star Wars Parody Paw Warz (sooo funny) and Ruffhanna with Diamonds (nice video). Click here to see more.

Anyway, Cat Fighter is cute! Check out the video, here at JUMI!

Meet meat Megaman

Go to the meat department at your grocery store, and mostly, the meat has been displayed... uhmm... dull. You just see packages of (sometimes bloody) red pieces of body and that's it. Wouldn't it be nice if grocery stores displayed their meat more interesting?

Well, a grocery store in Seattle, Uwajimaya, has a special way to display meat. Yup, here the ground meat has been sculptured into anime and video game characters. How cool is that! Meat Megaman! Meat Pikachu! Meat Bulbasaur! And meat Sonic the Hedgehog!!! So do you want (to eat) meat/meet Sonic (or another character)?

Princess Peach or a watery imagination?

Sometimes we see or imagine things in splashes of water. But now I found photos of StudioTamago at DeviantArt. Photos of splashes, but wait.... I see Princess Peach? Huh? Nope, this time it's not my imagination, because I see Yoshi and.... it's him! Mario!

These watery imaginations are created by StudioTamago. I don't know how StudioTamago created them. But I totally love it!

Survive Resident Evil for 'real'

I looove horror. Watching horror movies and.. Ieeekkkk, I remember playing Resident Evil for the first time. OMG.... (I know, I know, I'm a wimp). Now Universal Studios Japan worked together with Capcom to create a new attraction. Too scary to enter, but too cool to join. A real-life simulator: Resident Evil: the Real.

Nope, it's not like you're entering a building and just have to see zombies. No, just like the game, you will get your own replica gun and a limited supply of ammo. Now you have to survive, kill zombies and other scary creatures in a few minutes. Ieeeeekkk! Of course, the goal is 'to make it to your destination without reaching maximum infection'. Right, a difficult task it seems. Especially when Universal Studios Japan 'claims that the chances of surviving the game without infection are approximately zero percent'..... Ieekkk!

Anyway, Resident Evil: The Real will open on July 19 until September 9 in the Palace Theater in the New York section of Universal Studios Japan. Afterwards from September 12 to November 10 (on Friday to Monday or holidays). Do you think you're the person who will survive Resident Evil: the Real?

Nice outfit for your gaming night: Jeffie's controller leggings

If you're a girliegamer you might like this. The new leggings of Jeffie! These are really for the controller (and game) freaks! The leggings are filled with images of several controllers for different platforms. Too bad that there are just two different colors available. I would rather see them in girlie colors such as pink or purple...

Anyway, do you recognize all controllers?

Maker vs Marker

Who would win a battle between the animator and the animated character? Hmmmm, well this person filmed the whole battle: Maker vs Marker! It's a stop motion fight between these two persons, all on a whiteboard. Cool! Check out the video, here at JUMI.

Wii new dance game all about K-pop

Dancing on hits by Big Bang, 2NE1 and of course Psy and many more. You can do that everyday. But what if I say that you can start a contest with your friend at your own place? Huh? Just Dance, Dance Dance... these are Nintendo Wii's dance games. Lovely, dancing on English songs. If you're a K-pop fan, I've got some good news for you. Wii's new dance game is totally K-pop! Dance on 26 K-pop songs with 'The “K-pop Dance Festival”.

Even though it's a Korean version, the developer plans to launch it in Japan, Southeast Asia, America and Europe. Coool!  A Microsoft Kinect version will also be developed. Nice!

So let's all dance or I mean compete by dancing on Fantastic Baby, Roly Poly, I don't care, Mister and Gangnam Style!

Go back to the 90's with ADHD's Remember When 8-bit song

Do you remember when MTV still played music videos. When we got scared watching episodes of X-files. When we had Popples, Trolls and Super Soaker guns.

Yup, those good old days. ADHD remembered it too and made a 8-bit tribute to our childhood in the 90's. Before it all went wrong.

The music video "follows a boy growing up in the 90s and eventually becomes an adult. He then has an onscreen battle with sweet nostalgia before everything went wrong and his current depressed state."

I totally love seeing those old-school stuff again. Check out the video, here at JUMI.

Post-it notes become stopmotion arcade game

Post-it notes. Can we live without these little colored paper? Uhm, I guess not. I mean some of us. Remember Bang-jao Liu from Taiwan? This guy filmed his frustrating adventure using Post-it notes.

And now I've found another video starring...... Post-it notes! Again! Yup, Michael Birken made a tribute to two favorite old school arcade games. It's a stopmotion. It took him all weekends and holidays (for the past 11 months) to finish the video. Check it out, here at JUMI!

Solid Snake becomes edible

Is this another Metal Gear artwork made of wax? No. This is food! Say what? Yes, this bento lunchbox is completely edible! 'As part of its 25 years of Metal Gear celebration, Konami introduced this lunchbox.'

The lunchbox has been been created by Shoku no Sutajio (The Food Studio). Wonder what everything is? Well, Solid Snake's 'head and moustache was made from oil-coated oven-baked white onion. His face is made of mashed potato.' And you can already guess what his headband is...nori seaweed! Jummy!

Hmmm, is this too beautiful to eat? Or would you just grab his head and take a bite of it?

Play Tetris on a pumpkin

Tetris, a timeless game. I still remember playing it on the gameboy of my brother (which is now functioning as a hypermodern televisionset for my Sylvanian family). Gameboy hmmm... now you still can play Tetris on ugly cheap handheld consoles. Not very cool if you want to show your friends how cool Tetris really is.

Wouldn't it be nice to play Tetris on a new kind of console? Uhmm, for example on a pumpkin? Well, check this out: the Pumpktris! Nathan Pryor sacrified his pumpkin and placed LED's in it....to play one of the coolest, timeless games ever. Isn't that cool?
