Goodbye English speaking Jumi

Big changes in Jumi land! Hueh? Is Jumi going to leave? Nope, but Jumi will continue writing in Dutch instead of English. Whyyyy?? Well, maybe you've noticed that Jumi writes about a lot of things that just takes place in her own country, so a lot of Dutch news. That's a big reason for the change of language. Sowwie English speaking Jumi readers....

Besides that, Big bro and little sister Vivi decided to become co-writers for Jumi's blog. It was easier for them to write in Dutch instead of English.

English Jumi Facebook
This doesn't mean Jumi won't speak a word of English anymore! Because from now on there will be an official Jumi Facebook page! This page will be filled with lots of extra news in Dutch and English!

Besides Facebook, you can find Jumi on Instagram, Twitter and PHHHOTO too.

Will this blog die?
Don't worry, this blog will stay alive, but Jumi won't update you with the latest news in English. From now on you can visit this website at  jumijumi.blogspot.com

What happened to Jumi?!!

OK, probably you've noticed that Jumi doesn't post very often anymore...sowwie T_T. Little Jumi has been very busy lately. Busy with a new makeover? Hm, maybe. Busy with colouring her hair? Uhm...nope. But it has to do with the picture above. For those who wonder who that girl is on the picture above... (nope that's not Jumi)

Guess who left Japan to live with her family in The Netherlands? Vivi! Little Jumi's little sister! Yup, little Jumi is very busy showing Vivi the beautiful things in our little country. Vivi still has to acclimatize and get used to Dutch habits, Dutch food, Dutch sushi... 'OMG, some sushi taste like old, sweaty insoles', said Vivi. Can't help it Vivi. But she already loves the buildings and people on the streets smiling at her as she passes by.

Anyway, Vivi wants to post news on Jumi too. So at the moment little Jumi and Vivi are discussing about a new Jumi blog. Busy girlz! This means that the coming weeks we won't post very often. But you can always check out new photos of little Jumi, Vivi (and big bro... he's not dead) on Instagram. To be continued...

Zombies, don't mess with kitties or else...

Still one month left. And then the horror begins with zombies and other monsters invading our happy halloween evening. Ieek, save yourself, but don't forget your pets. Your hamsters and your kitties! If you're too late you save your kitty, maybe you can call these heroes.

Heroes? Well, I've found this video about two heroes saving a kitty from a group of zombies. Omg, I thought the kitty wouldn't make it. And then... you just have to check out the video, here at Jumi!

Rent a guy to wipe your tears

Imagine this: you're pms'ing and you read a sad story about a hamster left behind by an idiot at the children's farm. Weeehhh. Wouldn't that make you cry? Hm, maybe not if you're at work. But what if your other collegues would cry along? And then your tears would be wiped away by a hottie? Let the tears fall down!

It sounds like a fairytale huh. But now you can actually rent a hottie to wipe your tears! (Or well, if you live in Japan) The fairytale comes true with Ikemeso, the company that rents out the tear-wiping gentlemen.

OK, this is how it works. The company has different types of gentlemen. Just pick your favorite. Choose an intellectual type, sweet dentist type, bad boy type or something else. Don't think they're just random guys. Nope, these guys are licensed in “therapeutic crying”. Uhuh. Anyway, he comes to your workplace. Then you (and your collegues) have to watch a tearjerking video. After the video, the guy will personally wipe your tears (if you want). " It’s believed that seeing everyone together in such a “natural and honest” state will improve communication and lead to better morale overall."

A session costs 7900 yen (about €58). Hmm, I don't know about this service. Will it really help? Now I imagine a room full of collegues crying and shouting. Not because they're sad, but because they're angry! Fighting because they all want that one hottie to wipe their tears the whole day. Hmm, I would skip and go to bathroom to wipe my tears on my own.

It's a dog? It's a bird? It's a dird!

OMG, did you hear the news? Strange things happen on planet earth. Last year a 'photographer' has spotted owlcats. And now strangelooking dirds are walking around! Say what?

Yup, birds with a doggy faces and dogs with the head of a bird. Some look cuuute, some look creepy. I wonder if the flying dogs would make beautiful bird sounds or bark... Anyway, would you pet this dog.. uh bird... uhh birddog, dogbird, dird?

Step into the Climate Simulator and stay in Kiruna or Dubai for a moment without flying to it

So there you are. Standing at the airport of Stockholm. Waiting for your flight. Checking the weather app. How's the weather in Reykjavik now, or in Hong Kong? Hmmkay and then you see a fahrenheit/celcius number... OK, soooo how hot is it? Is this lovely sweater you're wearing maybe too thick. Iekk what to wear?! Maybe the Climate Simulator can help you to decide what to wear at your destination.

Sooo what's the Climate Simulator? Stockholm's airport offers this unique weather service where you can actually feel how warm or cold it is at a destination. And you can hear and see your destination. It's like having a preview. “With the climate portal we wanted to explore the possibilities of not just taking you to your destination, but our destinations to you. A direct link to the whole world,” said Michael Persson Gripkow, marketing director at Swedavia. Ladies, this simulator might be handy if you still don't know or you should wear the dress you've packed in your handbag or just stick with the outfit you're wearing at the moment.

Anyway, the simulator is a portal where you can enter three different rooms. You can enter the following rooms:
  • Go Cold room: Here you can feel cold northern winds, hear barking dogs, see winter landscapes. Step into this room and the portal will take you to places such as Kiruna, Tromsö and Reykjavik
  • Go Hot room: Feel the heat while hearing sounds of cicades in Dubai, Doha and Fort Lauderdale
  • Go Big room: This room is awesome. Hear the buzz of the city and smell different kitchens in the world. For a moment you're in Hong Kong, NY or LA.
The portal is a huge success! It has had over 40.000 visitors so far. Too bad that it's a temporarily addition to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. You can visit it till August 31.

Special cafe only for stuffed animals

Good news for little Jumi's, teddybears and other little friends. Tomorrow the very first cafe will open exclusively for them: the Yawarakan’s Cafe in Japan. And with exclusively I mean that humans aren't allowed to enter, this is a cafe only for your stuffed animal!

'Hueh?' is what I thought. Also when I read that the cafe is also runned by.... stuffed animals. Hueh? Hueh? Yes, I'm serious! I'm not joking!

So you can't go to the cafe, but your little friend can't go by him/herself to the cafe either. So howww.... OK, this is how it works. It starts with making a reservation for your little friend. Then send your little friend (by mail) to the cafe. Your little friend will be welcomed at the cafe. And then your little friend will have the best time of his/her life (hopefully he/she won't miss you that much)!

The evening will look like this:
1. the guest will get a jummy welcome drink, dinner and a delicious dessert;
2. after the guest has enjoyed the meal, some entertainment will be offered. Your little friend can listen to ghost tales or play cards with the staff;
3. sleepytime! Probably your little friend will be exhausted after having an evening like this. So the cafe offers the guest one night's lodging.

The next day your little friend will be send back to you, with souvenirs! The package costs ¥4,968 (that's about €26). Hmmm, is it really worth it to send your little friend to Yawarakan’s Cafe?

It's a nice idea to show your love for your little friend this way. Definitely something for little Jumi. But then I read that one strict rule is that 'stuffed animals must be no larger than the size of your hand' to enter the cafe. Nooooo whyyyy. OK, sorry little Jumi....

See how little Jumi explores a totally different world than what she's normally used to. Of course, of course we'll be back with more crazy Jumi on Tour news!

For now, I'm preparing my journey, listening to Hey - je t`aime(쥬뗌므). Au revoir!

Give birth at Hello Kitty maternity clinic

Wouldn't it be nice if Hello Kitty will stand by and cheer you up during one of the heaviest but beautiful moments in our, womens, lives? For example during the moment when we have to give birth to a little booboo? Well, now it's possible at the Hello Kitty maternity clinic in Taiwan!

Kitty here, Kitty there, Kitty everywhere at this clinic. Blankets, wall deco, statues... Close your eyes and you see Hello Kitty, open your eyes and you see Hello Kitty again. Definitely something for all Hello Kitty divas. Just save some money for a ticket to Taiwan. Hmm, what if you have to give birth to a booboo-boy, would you still go to this clinic?

Free sneakers by winning Subway Pump Battle?

Some sneakerbrands have interesting ways to promote their newest products. Some even give away a pair of newest sneakers for free. For example Reebok with the ZPump Fushion sneakers.

For free? Say what? Uhmm... well, of course you have to do something. Win the Subway Pump Battle of Reebok! A weird machine has been installed in a subway in South Korea. This machine targets two people randomely who are just sitting down at the station. Then all of a sudden the two targeted people have to compete with each other, by playing a game. The game involves hitting the buttons that lit up as fast as possible. The winner is rewarded with the pair of ZPump Fushion sneakers.

Funny game right? But the game also has a little purpose. 74% of Korean office workers admit to lack of exercise. So this game is a way of Reebok to inspire them to move more. Unfortunately, we don't have this machine in our little country. Hm, I would defintely work out with this machine by sitting at the station all day and night long... gimme those sneakers, Reebok!

Hello Kitty works together with fashiondesigner Yohji Yamamoto

It's time for some Hello Kitty fashion news. Guess what! Sanrio is teaming up with fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto! Cooool! Yamamoto's new line is called: Kitty's (how adorable).

Unfortunately I don't know how this line would look like. But, hmm I'm guessing the new line might be interesting for guys too (as I said before, I will never give up saying that there's nothing wrong to wear Hello Kitty, guys). Kitty's will include t-shirts, polo shirts, jackets and sweatshirts adorned with Hello Kitty illustrations. And this time Sanrio (or Yamamoto) has chosen to put illustrations of Hello Kitty's friend, My Melody, too. Cool!

Anyway, the new brand will open two stores in Japan this spring. I don't know much more about it, but I'll keep you updated.

Jobless? Become a dog food taster

OK, some of us might be experiencing it: being jobless and desperate. Sending 200 job application letters, without any success. Boehoeh. But have you tried finding jobs that totally sounds surreal? For example applying for a job as dog food taster. Say what?

Yes, it really exists. Eating dog food for a living! All you have to do is smell and taste dog food to make sure it meets a premium brand’s exacting quality standards. OK, not everybody can do this. You have to be trained to identify flavors that dogs may find appetizing or yuck. And you have to make sure that "each different ingredient is perfectly balanced in just the right way", says chief taster of Lily's Kitchen pet food. The salary isn't bad either. The salary starts from about $30,000 a year (€25.447) to $75,000 (€63.618) for experienced professionals.

Yuck? Well, if you're a person claiming to be a foodlover, this might be an idea, right?

Happy 2015!

And it's almost 2015! Time went sooo fast in 2014! It really was a busy year that we (unfortunately) didn't have much time to check out some new exciting or cute k-doramas. BUT we did a lot of other exciting and cute stuff!

Little Jumi went on tour a lot, sometimes to try out new jummyornot stuff. For example, she has tasted a piece of spotted dick pudding (iiiellgg) and went to the cutest Korean restaurant Mr Bap in the Hague. For a moment she was also in jummy snailheaven in Paris. And Little Jumi visited the shoes (omggg) exhibition in Rotterdam.

This year we had some guy news too. Remember the beardy Hello Kitty shirts? Or the special muscle suits for guys who don't want to work out 23 hours a day, but become muscled in 2 seconds. Or the special service that will transform your boyfriend into a princess for a day.

A new part of Jumi was the weekly musicbox. Every weekend we wanted you to relax (after a boring week of school or work) with some music. So little Jumi posted some lovely (mostly Korean) music videos.

One of the highlights this year was the collab with the director of upcoming movie Helldesk. It was an exciting experience and I'm sure this is gonna be the greatest short movie of 2015!

Yes girls and boys, 2014's time is up. Thank you for reading Jumi! OK, now it sounds like a dramatic farewell... No, no, in 2015 we will keep you updated about the latest news, music, jummyornot reviews, guynews, artstuff and muuuch more. For now goodbye and...

HAPPY 2015!

Helldesk the Movie

OK, maybe you're one of those unlucky persons who has dealt with a lousy helpdesk of some company. Stayed on the line for 32 minutes, sending 20 emails but never got a response back. Aaarghhh! Even though you might want to hate those people of that lousy helpdesk, they're just people and even these people can become one of those unlucky persons. Just like in.... Helldesk.

Helldesk
The employees of a lousy helpdesk are surprised by a terrible event. Caused by supernatural powers? Only Paul will know the truth, but can he handle it?

Helldesk is a short movie which will be released soon. It's gonna be bloody hellish! And guess what, little Jumi has been asked for a little help during the production of this movie. Real blood has been donated by little Jumi (well, it's not that much). Of course she didn't use her own blood, but from her big bro. Don't worry girls, he only fainted (after little Jumi hit him a bit too hard), so he's still alive. Btw, little Jumi and big bro don't have a role in the movie, so don't expect a cute Jumi movie or cartoon.

At the moment, the movie is still in production, but we will keep you updated. If you want to know more about Helldesk, go to Facebook or Twitter. Or check out the website www.helldeskthemovie.com

Fart smells like roses with pill

My fart smells gooood. Why the hell are people complaining about my lovely smelling farts? OK, if you're that person who's surrounded by people complaining about your farts, you might like  this: a special pil which makes your fart smells like roses or violets or chocolate!

Say what? A french inventor Christian Poincheval came up with the idea. One evening he was having a meal with his friends, but then they all started to become gassy. "Our farts were so smelly we were nearly suffocated. Something had to be done," he said. So mr Poincheval did some research and experiments with natural ingredients that would reduce the smell. And after months he created his special farts-that will smell-lovely-pill.

A jar of 60 pills costs €9,99. Hm, I don't think I'm going to try it. I'm not into pills anyways. So, boohoo for the people around me. They just have to get used to the lovey smell of Jumi farts.
